Detailed installation Schema for Geothermal Heat Pump Project

After receiving few questions about installing heat pump, connecting to the heating system and to the water heater, I decided to publish detailed installation schema. Here you can see every valve, pump, pipes, heat pump, water heater and other parts needed to operate the heat pump.

On the upper left corner of the schema you can see the legend for better understanding of the schema. I hope I didn’t forget anything – I cannot guarantee :-)

Electrical part of schema is missing (wiring) because I’m still working on it. Hope I will finish and publish it soon.If somebody finds an error in the schema please add a comment to this post. I case somebody have further question … please do not hesitate to post your comment.

what heat pump project would you choose today having already a practical experience?

Actually I would choose the same system, same source of energy. Maybe I would install also a wall heating and use it in summer for cooling the house.

Is it possible to install a geothermal hent pump in Nepal? Is it possible to work with you on a geothermal heat pump system?

A GHP uses this stable ground temperature to heat, cool, and when properly equipped, supply the house with hot water through a ground heat exchanger. Using the consistent temperature of ht earth as a heat exchange, instate of outside air with its variable conditions allows GHPS to reach fairly high efficiencies on the coldest nights.

It seems fairly complicated, I'm glad I'm leaving the installation up to New Jersey plumbers. Other wise I'm a do it myself kind of guy.

Great post, was investigating heat pump installation recently as me and my husband have attempted to make a more environmentally friendly home. It is good to see that people are taking it upon themselves to develop a more symbiotic opposed to parasitic approach to living with nature, keep up the good work!
